Team working with Goal Nabber

To mobilize the organization behind this business initiative, Sarah believes that she must make achievements visible as soon as possible. The reasons for this are:

·      Leadership and their teams have put effort into defining the need and strategy. However, day-to-day priorities are increasing.

·         Many opportunities are identified. Trying to tackle too many will dilute efforts and generate resourcing conflicts. And, there are many opinions about where to start.

·         Most people in the organization have been dedicated to daily operations. To deliver the expected outcomes, additional skills will be needed. Some examples are team leadership, planning, execution, facilitation and problem solving. These skills can be found in project management or lean six sigma.

·         Without some tangible effect, day-to-day priorities will out weight anything else. It will be more and more difficult to keep the organization’s interest.

With no time to loss and not enough means, this is a critical point. Earlier, a page to collect suggestions was set up (see Convince organization). It has generated many suggestions. These can be grouped and evaluated in Goal Nabber. The prioritization and initial selection can be done with the Executive team. There are quick wins that should generate some early benefits with limited effort. Ideally, Project Managers or Black Belts would support the initiatives. However, the resources and means aren’t available. Goal Nabber offers an alternative approach to develop the expert skills on the job. The user can set up a project with the problem-solving steps, invite team members to participate, and use advanced techniques at each step. The quick wins enable the users and teams to reach the objectives and build skills for more difficult projects later. For Sarah, Goal Nabber provides a way to monitor progress, show achievements and identify areas that require support.
